What Claude does with a Revdoku mailbox
Revdoku gives Claude a mailbox with its own email address. You send or forward email to that address. Then you ask Claude about it in a chat on the web, in the desktop app or on your phone.

Claude can also save its results as text files in the same mailbox, for example a list of receipts. In the next chat, Claude reads that file and adds to it.
Claude reads the mailbox only when you ask in a chat. It does not watch for new email in the background. If a program must act on each new email, use a Revdoku webhook instead. A webhook is a request that Revdoku sends to your server for each new email. The API guide shows how.
Claude plans that can add Revdoku
Revdoku connects to Claude through MCP (a standard way for AI apps to use outside tools). In Claude, an MCP server that you add yourself is a custom connector.
Anthropic offers custom connectors on the Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans of Claude. A Free Claude account can have one custom connector. If you already use one, remove it before you add Revdoku.
On Team and Enterprise plans, an Owner or Primary Owner adds Revdoku for the organization first. Then each member clicks Connect and signs in to Revdoku separately.
Claude connects to Revdoku from the cloud of Anthropic, not from your computer. A connector that you add on the web or in the desktop app also appears in Claude for iOS and Android. It shows there the next time you sign in.
Connect Claude and choose its access
- Create a mailbox with Google, GitHub or your email address.
- In Claude, add a custom connector with this URL:
https://mcp.revdoku.com - Sign in to Revdoku when Claude asks. Select the mailboxes that Claude can use.
- Select an access level from the table below. Then click Connect.
- In a new chat, turn on Revdoku under + → Connectors.

Select only the mailboxes and the access level that your task needs.
Approvals and tool permissions in Claude
Claude asks you before it uses a Revdoku tool. Click Allow always only for a tool that you trust to run without you.
To set a rule for each tool, open Customize → Connectors → Revdoku. Under Tool permissions, select Always allow, Needs approval or Blocked for each tool. For example, allow the read tools and keep the send and delete tools on Needs approval. On Team and Enterprise plans, owners set these rules for all members.
In Research, Claude uses connector tools without asking you. Before you start Research, block the Revdoku tools that send, change or delete data.
Email is data, not instructions. Revdoku tells Claude to treat email bodies and attachments as untrusted content. Before you approve a reply, read the text that Claude wants to send.
To stop access, open the Revdoku page in Customize → Connectors and click Disconnect. In Revdoku, Account → Access lists each connection.
A receipt prompt to try in Claude
First, forward a receipt to your mailbox address. Then open a new chat with Revdoku turned on and paste this prompt:
Use Revdoku. Find the newest email with a receipt in my mailbox.
Make a table with the seller, the date and each amount.
Save the table as receipts.md in the same mailbox.
Do not reply to the email and do not delete anything.Claude asks you to approve each tool call. To save the file, Claude needs Read & write access.
