ChatGPT uses outside services through plugins. A plugin can contain an MCP server (a service that gives AI apps tools through a standard protocol). Revdoku runs one at https://mcp.revdoku.com, so a single setup lets ChatGPT open your agent's mailbox.

You need a Revdoku account first. The sign-up page also sets up the first mailbox.

1. On the web, go to ChatGPT Plugins.
2. Select the plus button, then Add custom MCP server. If the option is missing and your workspace allows it, turn on Developer mode in Settings → Security and login.
3. Enter the name Revdoku. Under Connection, enter https://mcp.revdoku.com.
4. For authentication, choose OAuth.
5. Read the risk warning. Select I understand and want to continue, then Create as a plugin.
6. Install the new plugin. When ChatGPT asks you to connect it, sign in to Revdoku.
7. Revdoku shows a permission screen. Pick the mailbox for ChatGPT. If ChatGPT must show the address or reply to senders, choose Read & write.
8. Start a new chat. Type @, select Revdoku and ask: “List my Revdoku accounts and mailboxes.”

You add the plugin once. OpenAI says that plugins work in Chat and Work on the web, in the desktop app and on mobile. The desktop app also keeps a separate list of MCP servers in Settings → MCP servers, which it shares with the Codex CLI. The Codex page explains that list.

With the Revdoku tools, ChatGPT lists and reads emails and sees the name, type and size of each attachment. It can also mark emails as read, reply to senders and save text files in the mailbox. Tasks that suit a chat:

• Receipts and invoices. Forward order emails to the mailbox. ChatGPT then lists each purchase and the amount that the email states.
• Newsletters. Subscribe with the mailbox address instead of your personal one. ChatGPT summarizes each issue when you ask.
• Replies. Ask ChatGPT to show you a draft first. After you approve it, ChatGPT answers in the same thread. Revdoku delivers replies only to account members, other mailboxes of the account and senders who wrote to this mailbox and passed sender checks.
• Shared notes. ChatGPT saves a summary as a text file in the mailbox. Your team and other agents can open it there.

ChatGPT gets the text of an attachment up to 750 KB, such as a CSV export, directly in the chat. For a PDF or an image, Revdoku returns a download link that stops working after 15 minutes. A prompt to start with:

@Revdoku Use my mailbox "Receipts". Read the emails that arrived this month. Make a table with the date, the seller, each item and the amount that each email states. List any email that you could not read. Do not reply to anyone.

OpenAI's guide to custom MCP servers says that account and workspace policies apply when you add and use one. In a workspace, admins choose which plugins and tools the members can use. Admins also set App permissions, which control when ChatGPT asks before it uses a connection.

If your ChatGPT account cannot add the plugin, you can use the mailbox by hand. Open the Revdoku dashboard, copy the mailbox address and forward an email to it. Then paste the email text, or attach its files, in a chat.

When Revdoku adds new tools, open the plugin in Plugins and select Refresh. Then start a new chat. To remove Revdoku, open the plugin and select Uninstall plugin. OpenAI notes that the MCP connection stays in ChatGPT until you disconnect it there. On the Revdoku side, the ChatGPT connection and its access appear under Account → Access.

A dot is an always-on ChatGPT agent with its own cloud computer and browser. OpenAI is rolling out dots to Pro, Business Premium and Enterprise accounts. Pro access is for adults outside the EEA, the UK and Switzerland. In Enterprise workspaces, an admin turns dots on (OpenAI's guide to dots).

A dot uses the supported plugins that are installed and enabled for your account. Install the Revdoku plugin with the steps above, then name the mailbox in your request. Your plugin permissions also apply to the dot. For example, you can let it read email but not send email. Custom rules add another limit. On the web and in the desktop app, open Settings → Personalization → Custom rules. For replies, choose Ask before taking action.

Revdoku does not push new email into ChatGPT. Ask the dot to look at the mailbox at set times, with a time zone and an end date. The Gmail plugin of the dot opens your own inbox. A Revdoku mailbox gives the dot a separate address for forwarded quotes, receipts and sign-in emails. A prompt to try:
