Email for Bolt apps

Add an email inbox to your Bolt app

Give your Bolt app its own email address. It can receive email and attachments, show them in your app and reply to the sender. You paste one prompt, and Bolt writes the code.

How it works

  1. A new email arrives

Someone emails your agent’s address. Revdoku tells your agent right away.

  2. Your agent opens it

It reads the email and its attachments when it needs them.

  3. Every read is logged

The audit log shows each email and file your agent opened, and why.

  4. Your agent gets the data

It uses what it found and can reply to the sender.

What your app can do with its inbox

Receive email

Give your app an address for orders, forms, sign-up codes or customer messages, and show new email in the app.

Use attachments

Save PDFs, images and other files sent to the inbox, and use them in your app.

Reply to senders

Reply from the same address to people who emailed your app.

Add an inbox to your Bolt app in 5 steps

  1. Create your free inbox. Sign up with Google, GitHub or your email. No card needed.
  2. Create an API key. In your Revdoku dashboard, open Account → Access, create an API key and copy it.
  3. Add the key to Bolt as a secret. Add REVDOKU_API_KEY as a secret or environment variable for your app’s server code. If your project uses Supabase, add it as an Edge Function secret there. Don’t give it a VITE_ prefix, because that puts the key in the browser.
  4. Paste this prompt into Bolt. Bolt calls Revdoku from server code, so the key never reaches your visitors’ browsers.
Add an email inbox to my app with Revdoku.
Read the Revdoku API guide first: https://revdoku.com/api.md
- Call the Revdoku REST API only from server-side code
(a backend route or edge function). Read the API key from
the secret REVDOKU_API_KEY. Never put the key in browser code.
- Create one Revdoku inbox for the app and save its id and
email address. Show the address in the app.
- Show new emails and their attachments in the app.
- Let me reply to an email from the same address.
- When a new email arrives, update the app automatically
(use a Revdoku webhook if the app has a public URL).
Ask me before creating more inboxes.
  1. Try it. Send an email with an attachment to your inbox address and check that it shows up in your app.

Keep the key in Bolt’s secrets, never in page code or chat messages. API reference · Plans and limits
